No booze but best hot and sour soup on the island.
The meat Jun is wonderful.
They do, its all good
Authentic taste of the Island. Not much to look at, especially amidst all of the resorts in which it is located, but food and service is fantastic! After discovering early in our trip we ordered their take out a few times and ate it overlooking the ocean for an even better experience. Great offering of local plates and Chinese offerings. Try the mixed plates or BBQ for a good variety. Portions are plentiful and the prices are very reasonable.
You could walk or drive by this place many times and not notice it. I've been coming to Maui every year for about 10 years and found this place a few years back and always make sure to come in. Locally owned, very nice people. The general Tso chicken is very good and I like the deep fried eggroll appetizer. They are fairly small so depending on your group you may want to order a couple of orders of the eggroll. The Pineapple Coconut shrimp is solid as well. If you are over in the Lahaina area and want some chinese food definitely give this place a shot!
I really wanted to like this place. It seemed promising. My wife did not want to eat here and wanted to walk out before we ordered because it was far from clean or sanitary. I convinced her to stay because the ratings were good. The portions are very large. It is now 18hrs since we are here and we are still feeling a little stomach upset. Not sick but not great. Wish I would have listened to her!
Very disappointed with the food. Maybe we got a bad batch, but both of our orders were ridiculously salted. The garlic shrimp was dry with minimal flavor except for the abundance of salt. Cheap food and we were excited for local food and the good reviews but unfortunately we were left wanting
I ordered the mixed Bbq plate and it was freakin amazing! Pork, beef, and chicken Bbq deliciousness! Two scoops of the most tender and tastiest rice I've ever had. And, one scoop of legit creamy bomb Hawaiian Macaroni. My only complaint is more macaroni!
This is a must visit for anyone who enjoys food. Featuring a menu with over 60 items, one can sample both local chow and classic Chinese cuisine, and you can't go wrong with either. Be warned, the portions are generous and you won't be able to stop. My only regrets are that I cannot rate higher than 5 stars, and that I did not try the Musubi.
Good food for the price! Very tasty General Tso Chicken and the Garlic Veggies are excellent. Mahalo🤙🏽
Got the #18 and #27 and it's amazing! So fresh and huge plates! Definitely recommend!
Good Food! Small in size but large in taste and nice sized portions. Snug but clean and comfy if you get a table. I had the Fish platter, the Ono was excellent, the Shrimp was so so. If you go, I'd suggest Ono and pork!
Went in midday, place was empty, clean place, but seemed we bothered the guy behind counter. His ALOHA spirit was more of GOOD BYE, not welcoming at all, still ordered food was okay, wont be coming back though not with that kind of attitude! Maybe this guy likes to spend his money wheres hes treated rudely.
This dive is a must especially if you enjoy Chinese and Hawaiian food. Very clean, great service, fabulous portions, great price and taste!
Pineapple Coconut shrimp was drenched in mayonnaise. Pork gravy was tasteless. Ribs were dry and all bone. Chicken was dark meat (which is fine) but had to peal off a thick layer of chicken skin. Shrimp were not shelled and fish was dry. Macaroni salad was mediocre. We arrived for dinner at 8:30pm and they informed us that we had to order “to go” because they wanted to go home. Posted closing hours is 9:30pm. Tipped on top of the $40 dinner. Disappointed in this local store.
Great food for a reasonable price
Delicious mixed Hawaiian plates. BBQ chicken was delicious with a great crust, the shrimp were well cooked and seasoned, the ono fish was a bit salty but still delicious. The star of the show was the kalua pork. It may be the best I've had.
Good food. Good price. We will be here another 5 days. We will be back more than once. Nice guy working here too.
Food is excellent. The restaurant is not spacious. You may have to wait outside at peak hours. There are 2/3 tables outside for busy hours. The owner need to be more polite.
If you want a small no frills local family owned mixed plate restaurant that's serves mixed plate entrees that taste way better than the bigger restaurants in town you need to try this place. I always come here every year when I visit. It's a mandatory eating destination for me. Don't be afraid of the simple decor. You be missing out.
Locomoco with egg was really good!
Great place to relax and enjoy a great meal. Love the entire menu. Staff is blessed with Aloha. The atmosphere is relaxed.
We ordered the seafood fried rice, which was really good. We also ordered the Mongolian Beef. The beef was chewy... great, if you like the experience of chewing gum at the same time. It was heavy on the soy sauce, and a bit spicy. We ordered the Mongolian beef a la carte. I thought the portion was a little lean given the price. Overall, nothing special, so when the craving hits us again for Chinese food, we will certainly look elsewhere.
Not really impressed, meat was very fatty. The meat on my wifes plate was 1/2 fat. The food was tepid. We had the mixed plate. Will not return. Bad vibe going on with owner, as others have noted. Sorry i ate at here.
Wide selection of both local and Chinese menu items. We did breakfast one day (Locomoco & French toast) and takeout dinner the next night (Kung Pao Chicken, Kalua Pork & Chicken Katsu) All was very tasty.
First of all the food is worse than the typical mom and pop hole in the wall Chinese food restaurant. The owners (mom and pop) were constantly quarreling as we ordered - one forgot to make a carbon copy and the other made us restart the order. Card machine supposedly broke so it became cash only. Then my order came as a side order in my husband's dish although I ordered it to stand alone and paid for it that way. The owner went into the kitchen and started a yelling fight with the chef about my order. Oh, and the table next to us wanted to dine in but got their food to go. No apologies given to us or to them. Not how I want to waste 30 minutes of our Maui vacation. Mood also ruined. Go only if you're drawn to confusion and drama, ending in disappointment about the food.
我最喜欢这个饭店!Wǒ zuì xǐhuān zhège fàndiàn!Lovely, kind, and patient people who serve wonderful food. They serve actual Chinese food here! The food is always delicious and authentic, which is why I always come back multiple times when I'm in Maui.Plus they let me practice my Mandarin, so bonus.
I got the seafood mixed plate and loved it. I love garlic so this meal was perfect for me. Its a good pace to grab a quick bite for cheap. Friendly, fast service.
Great food, lots of choices. Giant portions. Awesome prices for the area. Combo plate with 2 meats, rice and macaroni salad was just $12. And great coffee as well! Give them a try!!!
Wonderful little place, family owned, nothing fancy, but good food, decent portions, inexpensive, and good stuff! Walked here from our resort for take-out. They were very nice. Will come here again.
Fast and cheap food. Portions are pretty big but we finished it all after a long day of snorkeling.
This place has considerable size entrees for a great price. My fiancé and I ate for less than 35.00 dollars. Great food.
Customer service was terrible. When me and my husband got there the guy on the front desk didn’t say hi or anything just handed to us the menu. The food was very mediocre. Restaurant was the dirtiest place I have been in my life. When the cook opened the kitchen doors you could see how dirty everything was. I honestly don’t know how this place got more than 4 stars. I felt so disgusted after I ate there. Never again.
Large portion sizes at a fair price. It would be better if it had a little more flavor
Taste good and the price is really cheap.
First time there will not be my last.Food so Ono😋
Stopped in for take out. Ordering went fine but when food was ready I asked for hot sauce instead he picked up the phone and took a take out order leaving me waiting. The food was 2 stars at best tough and dry short rib plate and as well as old dry tasting seafood plate.
Front staff was rude and the ono was dry and bland. We were planning on eating in at 8pm (an hour before closing) but were given a to-go box and told to leave. How this place has such a high rating is a mystery
Large portions but quality of meat could have been a bit better. The Kula pork was the best thing I tried.
I had high hopes for this place but my full family ate here and no one was really happy with their food. We tried a good mix of the different Chinese or Hawaiian dishes and they were all pretty much the same. They also got my order wrong and didn't do anything about it. I won't be going back here anytime soon.
Not too bad for a quick bite.. prawns were small and shells were still on them which im not a fan of.
Great local place would of gave it 5 stars but Kahlua pork a little salty. But still good place.
My wife noticed this little restaurant and read good reviews on it, so we tried it. We were so glad we did. It's not fancy but the food was great and very generous size portions. Their prices were very reasonable. We went back there again.
The service was good ,the food was tasty and just hit the spot . Would visit again.
